Town of Gilbert Parks & Recreation Master Plan

The Town of Gilbert Parks and Recreation Master Plan identifies additional parks and recreation facilities to meet the needs this growing community.  A peer city study  comparing  Gilbert to other, similar jurisdictions was used to inform the development of recreation Levels of Service.  The adopted plan provides recommendations for new parks, trails, recreation facilities and programs, as well as  options for  funding the development of recreation facilities in light of new Arizona laws that affect how community facilities are funded.  A program classification system, funding philosophy and updates to the town Trail Design Guidelines are also part of the plan recommendations.  The planing process included extensive public engagement, community forums, a statistically significant telephone survey, coordination with the ongoing with the town Transportation Master Plan process and working with the Parks, Recreation, and Library Services Advisory Board and the Gilbert Town Council.
